A few days before Thanksgiving, a friend and I were discussing how much the Mariah Carey memes and GIFs were responsible for the early onset of Christmas culture. It feels like it gets earlier every year. It’s as though I start drinking a pumpkin spiced latte only to have it turn into a peppermint mocha before I am even finished. Thanksgiving, once again, fights for its place as a legitimate holiday and not just an opening act for Christmas. To be fair, I’ve always been a bit grouchy about this.
